We were approached by our Client, a property investor, to investigate the potential to refurbish and extend a former commercial site to provide new apartments.
The site is located in the centre of Sandbach, Cheshire. The proposal was split into two elements, the conversion of building of historical interest to the street frontage and the provision of new apartments to the rear of the site. We worked alongside Cheshire East Conservation Officer to develop a scheme that complements the surrounding historic buildings and town of Sandbach. The new build element to the rear of the site adopts a more modern form, whist still respecting the adjacent buildings.
Planning consent was granted in April 2016.
