The brief was to design a contemporary, unique and innovative house in Cheshire. The proposal is for a house taking influence from the surrounding rural structures. The design was developed with the site environment and nature as dictating factors. Built into the bank, it creates the impression of a single storey structure with a large two storey contemporary glazed south facing rear elevation.
The elliptical shape was developed from the surrounding shelters and the topography of the land and the twist. The upside down house allows the living accommodation to benefit from the views over the Cheshire countryside with the non habitable accommodation located to the depth of the plan. The material pallette consists of green walls, green rooves and metal cladding to reflect the surrounding landscape and construction.
