On Friday, 28 March 2025 at 11:34A quick congratulations to one of our Practice Partners, Julia Ashall, who last week was added to the RIBA Principal Designer Register!
A quick word from Julia: “….As part of my continued work as Lead Architect and Principal Designer on a wide variety of projects and sectors, I am pleased to have fulfilled the criteria for the RIBA Principal Designer Register and have been added to the Register.
The RIBA Principal Designer Register is the list of individual RIBA Chartered Members in the UK that have demonstrated their knowledge, skills, experience and behaviours to support the Dutyholder role under the Construction (Design and Management) Regulations 2015 and the new Principal Designer role under the amended Building Regulations.
Since the introduction of the Building Safety Act 2022 and update to the Building Regulations 2023 there has been a requirement for a Principal Designer to be appointed on all projects under CDM Regulations and Building Regulations.
This is a role we have embraced as a practice since the introduction of the role of Planning Supervisor…..”
