Planning Appeal Success

We have been successful in a planning appeal against the refusal of Cheshire East Council for the construction of a new farming implement storage building within the open countryside. Our client wished to construct a new storage building to house machinery and equipment associated with the maintenance of the extensive area of meadow land and woodland under his ownership. Although the site was not used as part of an established agricultural enterprise, the Inspector opined that the proposals would be essential for the purposes of ‘agriculture’ and would be in keeping with the rural area in which the site was situated, the machinery and equipment presented for storage being appropriate to maintain and work the appellant’s land.
