Planning consent was obtained for demolition of a single storey building and construction of a seven storey hotel and apartments in the centre of Hanley. Careful liaison was required with the local authority to reflect the characteristics of ‘The Potteries’, such as tiled facades.
The lower ground floor of the building provides the reception, lounge and bar area. The middle floors of the building are hotel accommodation. The upper floors are apartments. There are several intensive green roofs which provide views over the city.
The scheme forms part of Stoke On Trent City Council’s long term plan to create multi storey buildings and reinvigorate the city centre.
A new application has been submitted on this development for the introduction of a supermarket and residential spaces.
